The Vietnamese Government has invested in the infrastructures connecting the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh with neighboring provinces and areas of key economic zones in Central Vietnam. In order to create opportunities and employment in less developed areas, the government is providing more subsidies in term of tax incentives coupled with a low labor cost and an abundance of labor to attract FDIs flowing into these areas. With the purpose to create opportunities to expand new business production at low costs in key economic areas, VSIP, in collaboration with Amcham, is organizing a seminar focusing on the topic: "THE NEXT MANUFACTURING BASE IN VIETNAM”.

TPP and New FTA’s - New Rules, Opportunities and Challenges.

         Nestor Scherbey founded Customs, Trade & Risk Management Services, Ltd. after a career as a licensed U.S. Customs Broker, pioneer in application of the U.S. Foreign Trade Zones program to the automotive industry with VW and, as Director, Global Trade Operations for the Amway Corporation. In the course of his career, Nestor was responsible for launches of new markets through U.S. export and destination market import and logistics operations in 46 countries in Asia, Europe, South and Central America and, the Caribbean.
Nestor has successfully resolved numerous customs audits, investigations and significant penalty cases. He has worked with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the customs services of other countries in matters concerning regulatory reform, implementation of the GATT 1994 Customs Valuation Agreement, WTO trade facilitation and, provided training on Rules of Origin of Free Trade Agreements to prepare for TPP in Vietnam. 
 Nestor has served with the Customs Committee of the Foreign Chambers of Commerce of Thailand and, with the Manufacturing Committee of AmCham Vietnam. Nestor currently serves as Senior Advisor of the Vietnam Trade Facilitation Alliance (VTFA), a Customs-Business Partnership public consultations program that advises the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam with WTO legal and regulatory reforms, process modernization and trade facilitation.  
The Vietnam Trade Facilitation Alliance was established in 2014 as a technical assistance program under the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement by USAID, in cooperation with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and AmCham Vietnam.  He also serves as an advisor to the Asian Development Bank’s Mekong Biz program that provides development assistance to SME’s in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Nestor is the General Director of CTRMS Vietnam, the first specialist customs and trade management consulting services firm licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam in 2014.

Gricha Safarian, Shareholder and Managing Director of Puratos Grand-Place Indochina has been in the B-to-B chocolate business for 30 years, being one of the founder of OCG Cacao Group (acquired by Cargill after 5 years of successful operation), founder of Grand-Place Chocolate head quartered in Belgium and being the market leader today in Indochina market.
Gricha and his team has been involved in the introduction and development of cocoa plantation in Vietnam since 2008 with a number of sustainable cocoa programs. Gricha’s latest achievement was to set up the first single origin Vietnamese chocolate processed in Vietnam with beans that have been fermented by his own team all the way down to the chocolate, having therefore a fully integrated process in a cocoa producing country.
In 1984, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Free University of Brussels Belgium (ULB). He studied Harvard Business in 2014 and 2016 for courses Aligning Sustainability with Corporate Performance, Sustainable Strategy, And Strategy: Building and Sustaining Competitive Advantage.
