Singaporean Minister Mentor visits Binh Duong Province
   10:05' 22/01/2007 (GMT+7)

VietNamNet Bridge – The Binh Duong People’s Committee Chairman on January 20 asked Singapore to continue to help students in the province study English language.

Chairman Nguyen Hoang Son made the request when he met with Singaporean Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew who came to this southern province after his stopovers in the two biggest cities, Hanoi and HCM City.

Lee showed his interest in the provincial human resources for industrial development, administrative reform, education and training, especially English learning.

Son highly valued Lee’s visit as well as the effective support from Singapore for Vietnam, particularly Binh Duong, as shown by the success of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP), a model that the province has been using for its following industrial parks.

The Singaporean guest expressed his delight to the province’s socio-economic development since his last visit in 1997.

He later visited the VSIP and was updated with the development over the past 10 years of the VSIP 1 and the VSIP 2.
