Binh Duong plans growth of industrial parks

   The southern province of Binh Duong has issued a plan through 2020 under which the province will develop 22 industrial parks covering an area of about 3,500 ha.

   Currently, the province has 15 industrial parks on 1,536 ha.

   The Binh Duong Industrial Investment and Development Corporation (Becamex) has spent 158.2 billion VND (9.9 million USD) to build infrastructure at the Binh Chuan, Tan Dong Hiep and An Thanh industrial parks, including roads, electrical systems, water system and waste treatment systems.

   The land area of 173 ha of these three industrial parks was nearly fully occupied by 19 foreign-invested projects and 12 domestic projects.

   Binh Duong Construction and Mineral Co. issued a call for investment in Dat Quoc Industrial Park. The company has already spent 49.6 billion VND (3.1 million USD) to build infrastructure for the first phase of the park, accounting for 104 ha of a planned total area of 212 ha.

   The Korea Glass-Windoor Joint Venture and Yuro VINA Co. Ltd. have occupied 3 ha at the 63 ha Beautiful City Co. Industrial Park.

   Binh Duong province's Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Park boasts 13 projects with a combined registered capital of 81 million USD. Some 29 other projects representing a combined capital of 200 million USD have signed contracts to operate in the park, including an 18 million USD Japanese-invested project for manufacturing elevators and cranes and a 14 million USD Japanese-invested projects to make pistons for auto and motorbike engines.
