“Struggle” finding workers

After a long stagnation of operation due to Covid-19, now Kurabe Vietnam Company has restored production. From the beginning of June up to now, the company has continuously posted information on recruiting 400 employees, but it has not yet recruited the full number.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngu, Chairman of Kurabe’s Trade Union, said that due to difficulties in recruiting local workers, the company has formed "branches" in some provinces to bring workers back to the enterprise. Before the pandemic, workers applying for jobs were requested to have certification graduating from junior high school, or at least could read and write, now the vacancy are "more open".

“Worker who finds him/herself eligible for the job notice can apply to the company. After that, they will take the test, after the test is scored and qualified, they will be interviewed and then recruited. Working conditions at the company is not strict”, said Mr Ngu.

With two factories in VSIP I and VSIP II industrial parks in Binh Duong, Far Eastern Apparel Vietnam Co., Ltd. is currently recruiting about 800 workers. Not only recruiting skilled workers, the company is also willing to provide vocational training for unskilled workers, but is always "thirsty" for labor.

In order to recruit enough workers to meet production needs, the company promotes its own workers as a recruiting channel. If friends and relatives of the company’s worker are introduced, he or she will be rewarded with an amount of 01 million VND/ person.

Ms. Chong Sy Binh, Head of Human Resources Department of the company said, “The Company continuously offers many more competitive pay rate and compensation benefits to attract employees, with the hope that in the coming time there will be enough labor to maintain production stability.”

“All of our factory workers are provided with living place, shuttle buses and daily childcare. In addition, new member is supported with an additional 01 million VND a month. Those are benefits for workers in factories in VSIP II industrial parks” said Ms. Binh.

Some other enterprises in VSIP Binh Duong also have high recruitment demand but are also facing difficulties, such as: Showa Gloves Company, a Japanese glove manufacturer, is in need of recruiting 400 employees; Zeng Hsing Industrial Company, a Taiwanese manufacture in VSIP II, is in need of 50 workers to produce sewing machines; ...
