TOPPING UP PHASE TWO OF THE HABITAT BINH DUONG

- The development received EDGE sustainable certification by International Finance Corporation, World Bank

- Topping up marks new milestone for residential development

Binh Duong, 28 July 2019 – A topping up celebration was held today for The Habitat Binh Duong, marking the completion of superstructure concrete works for the second phase of the residential development. The project is developed by leading integrated township developer, VSIP, together with its partners Sembcorp Properties from Singapore, and Japanese partner MC Development Asia (Mitsubishi Corporation).

The Habitat Binh Duong is located at the gateway to VSIP at Huu Ngi Avenue in Thuan An district, Binh Duong province, and was developed in response to its multinational tenants’ requests for secure, quality housing and amenities as part of the VSIP’s work, live, play environment.
The development of phase two, on course for handover to residents in March 2020, only began in October last year. Set across three towers, it will deliver approximately 48,460 square meters gross floor area of apartment and retail space. Residents in phase two enjoy access to adult and children swimming pools, a club house with workout area, barbeque and social facilities. All 460 apartment units are sold out.

Phase two of The Habitat Binh Duong is distinguished by special green features. The three residential towers have external shading devices and insulated roofing to keep the buildings cool, while all apartment units have energy-saving lighting with lighting controls. The resource-efficient units help reduce utility costs.

The topping up ceremony marks a significant milestone for the developers. Phase two received overwhelming interest from buyers, on top of the 267 units fully sold in phase one. The first phase was also conferred “Best Mid-end Condo Development” in its category at the 2017 PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards. Adding to this, phase two has received preliminary EDGE certification, a sustainability certification system in construction developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. To reach the EDGE standard, or “Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies”, the project introduced features that would show a 20 percent reduction in energy, water and materials consumption relative to a baseline in Vietnam.
