MESSER IN BINH DUONG PROVIDES 1,600M3 OF OXYGEN GAS PER DAY

Binh Duong, July 19, 2021 – At VSIP I , Messer Vietnam Industrial Gases Company (Messer) was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of the Departments of Health, Departments of Industry and Trade to visit and check the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic.

At the meeting, Mr Nguyen Van Loi encouraged leaders, officers and employees at the Company. He recommended that the Board of Directors of the company maintain production of compressed air, especially oxygen gas, to ensure the supply to the province and neighboring localities in case of the complicated situation of the pandemic. 

He also suggested that the company's Board of Directors pay special medical attention to officials and workers.

Mr Nguyen Van Phuong, Production Supervisor of Messer in Binh Duong said the firm had recognized oxygen production to be an "especially important field whose supply chains need to be protected," even before the coronavirus situation became as complex as it is today. In anticipation, the company began to stockpile oxygen while improving its production system and deploying Covid-19 control measures to keep operations running, Phuong added.

Messer Group is the largest producer of oxygen and other industrial gases in Vietnam. The filling plant in Binh Duong can supply oxygen to medical facilities in Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh city, Long An, Tien Giang and Can Tho, etc. At current capacity, the plant in Binh Duong can fill up to 1,600 m3 of oxygen gas/day and can be increased to 2,500 to 3,000 m3/day on demand.

Previously, on July 15, Messer Company - Industrial Gas Specialist of the Federal Republic of Germany sponsored Vietnam with 30,000 Corona antigen test kits. These test kits were handed over to Vietnam's Ministry of Health with the help of World University Service (WUS) and with the participation of Consulate General of Vietnam in Germany.

“We are very concerned about the loss of people especially for those infected with Covid-19 around the world and we are happy to be able to contribute further to the prevention of the pandemic in Vietnam with this support”, said Mr. Stefan Messer - Chairman of Messer Industrial Gas Group during the handover ceremony.
