The 50,000 trees will more than compensate for the vegetation removed during the construction of the new factory and is the first milestone on the LEGO Groups long-term sustainability ambitions and investments with VSIP in Vietnam.
By the support from VSIP, The LEGO Group have been planted 15,000 trees, they will plant further 35,000 trees in 2023 and 2024.
To ensure the best outcome and ensure that local biodiversity is supported, seven different types of trees will be planted across multiple urban locations near the factory, and the timing of replanting will take place at optimal times during the year.
