GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR QUANG TRI INDUSTRIAL PARK IN CENTRAL VIETNAM

Quang Tri, 15 December 2023 – The groundbreaking ceremony for Quang Tri Industrial Park took place this morning in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province. The 481-hectare Quang Tri Industrial Park project is implemented by Quang Tri Development Consortium, a joint venture company of Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Co., Ltd, Thailand’s Amata City Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation.

The Quang Tri Industrial Park is located 60 kilometers of Phu Bai International Airport (Hue airport). The project is envisioned to help strengthen economic growth and in turn catalyse the long-term development of Quang Tri province. The province is part of Vietnam’s North Central Coast which has been earmarked by the Vietnamese government as a future economic hub along the East-West Economic Corridor linking Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. The trans-regional corridor aims to promote the development and integration of the four ASEAN countries.

The industrial park’s target industries include textile and garment, footwear, packaging and printing, wood processing and furniture, food and beverage. During the groundbreaking ceremony, five companies signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) for land lease at Quang Tri Industrial Park. Winzen Holding of Hong Kong (China) and Join Success Wealth of Singapore intend to undertake garment production at the industrial park, joining three local Vietnamese companies that are involved in furniture manufacturing and motorcycle distribution.
