Binh Duong, July 01, 2021 – The Habitat Binh Duong (Phase 2) developed by VSIP – Sembcorp Gateway (a partnership between VSIP Group, Sembcorp Properties and MC Development Asia) has achieved EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Certificate by IFC – World Bank on July 01, 2021.
IFC created EDGE to respond to the need for a measurable and credible solution to prove the business case for building green and unlock financial investment. EDGE includes a cloud-based platform to calculate the cost of going green and utility savings.
The EDGE certificate is strong evidence of the developer’s vision to develop sustainable projects which are environment friendly and energy-saving.
Specifically, phase 2 has provided sustainable solutions for residents which help to save:
• 21-24% energy
• 26% water
• 48% of embodied energy in materials
Therefore, the amount of wastewater and CO2 emitted into the environment will be significantly reduced, which are the sustainable benefits that the investor wants to bring to the community and residents.
